Is food a distraction for you?

Hello Friends!

First of all, I need to apologize because it has been a while since I have written on this blog. I have been really busy (which is no excuse, I know!) starting a new company which will offer a 28 day whole foods based cleanse (we are launching in just a few weeks! More on that to come..).

Creating this company has been a huge growing and a learning experience. One of the main things I have learned about myself is how important it is to monitor how I choose to spend my time. So often I find myself tempted to engage in mindless distractions, like eating when I am not hungry or eating past the place where I am satisfied. When distractions arise, I know it is time to evaluate what is going on in my life. Food is a stress reliever for me so when I am not eating mindfully, it means that I….

  • Haven’t diffused enough stress in other areas of my life
  • I’m probably not exercising enough
  • I’m not having enough quiet time or…
  • I’m feel unsupported because I’ve been too ‘busy’ to reach out to my friends and family.

How about you? Do you use food as a distraction from living your best life? Don’t get me wrong: I LOVE food and I am not advocating an austere way of eating, I am simply talking about eating mindfully:  Paying attention to your body–eating when you are hungry and stopping when you are satisfied, choosing foods that your whole body wants, not just your taste buds, and using your distractions to wake you up as to what is going on in your life.
